Maturity
Overview
Aside from balance and purpose, moderation is critical in a complex and functional context. Overemphasizing elements or misusing our identity’s attributes can hamper our purpose and distract our audience.
If everything looks important, then nothing is.
— Patrick Lencioni, The table group
Best practices
Here are some general guidelines to make the most of our identity attributes in the Product context:
Design
- Avoid putting too many things in bold.
- Leverage color and contrast to highlight important information and direct people’s attention.
- Not everything needs an icon.
- Effective use of white space will create balance and give people breathing room to focus on what matters.
